De Zalze Winelands Golf Estate is located in the middle of the Cape Winelands, 5km from the beautiful and historic student town of Stellenbosch. The estate boasts not only a spectacular golf course which hosted the 2006 Amateur World Cup, but it's own prize winning wine cellar as well as the Terroir restaurant, which has over a number of years been ranked in the top five restaurants in the country.The beaches of Strand and Gordons Bay lie within a 15 minute drive to the south, and Cape Town, where many matches, including quarter and semi - final matches of the FIFA soccer world cup will be played, within a 40 minute drive to the west. Some of the most famous wine farms and estates in the Cape are within a half hour drive in all directions.
The Guest House exudes style and elegance with quality finishes including gleaming hardwood floors, and comprises of three double bedrooms, all with en suite bathrooms with underfloor heating and heated towel rails. The main bedroom suite is particularly spacious and luxurious. The double volume entrance hall leads on the one side to a guest toilet and a reading room, and on the other to a large open plan modern kitchen, dining area and main living area with huge fire place. From the living room as well as the entrance hall you are drawn to a large covered north facing verandah with built in barbeque, with views, over the sparkling salt water pool, onto the tenth green and the vineyards and dam beyond. Upstairs, in addition to the bedrooms, is an additional living/home entertainment area, as well as a large, open, north facing verandah with spectacular views. Other facilities include 2 plasma TV screens with satellite viewing and air condioning throughout. Daily house cleaning is provided and a golf cart can be provided on request.

From Cape Town and/or Cape Town International Airport, take N2 in eatern direction ( away from CT ), then turn left into Baden Powell Drive, approx 5km, turn right at first traffic light, into Annandale Rd, approx 8km to T Junction with traffic light at R44, turn left and main gate to estate on your left, approx 3km further.
About the area
The De Zalze Estate lies in the heart of the world renowned Cape Winelands, 5 km away from the beautiful and historic university town of Stellenbosch, which is in itself a popular tourist destination for it's historic, architectural and cultural value as well as it's laid back coffee shop culture. In the evenings you can attend classical music performances and music and theatre productions at the Endler Hall and the Kleine Libertas and Oude Libertas theatres, or enjoy an evening out in one of many bars/taverns featuring local bands.Their is an abundance of good restaurants as well, including the The Big Easy, a very good and classy restaurant co-owned by golfing star Ernie Els. On Saturdays you can buy fresh produce and other goods at two markets, and on any day you can drive around the area and visit some of the most famous wine estates in the country, all within a half hour drive from the town.
Across the road from the estate is a smallish, very pleasant and clean shopping mall which also offers a good restaurant and coffee shop, and on the estate itself you will find the Terroir restaurant which consistently features in the top four restaurants in the country, as well as the prize winning Klein Zalze wine cellar, where you can taste lovely wines. The estate also offers cycling or walking along the fairways and the Blaauwklippen river, and canoeing and fishing on two large dams, where an abundance of bird life can also be viewed. You are also likely to encounter the odd rabbit or mongoose.
