Upon entering the gates of Bamboo, the Guest House one steps into a verdant, forested oasis that regenerates and rejuvenates the soul. Well known for its relaxed and friendly atmosphere, Bamboo offers visitors a tranquil haven just minutes from Knysna’s town centre, the Waterfront, Thesen Island, Leisure Isle and the iconic Knysna Heads. Whether you're on holiday, on honeymoon, on business or simply passing through, Bamboo staff will endeavour to make your stay with us as comfortable and pleasant as possible.
Our 14 en suite rooms, individually styled and beautifully decorated, are accessed via elevated wooden walkways that meander through our gardens. Our rooms comprise:
* Courtyard Rooms Double or twin bedded rooms with attached enclosed courtyard gardens.
* Garden Rooms Double/queen/king or twin bedded rooms with private decks or terraces. Our poolside garden room offers the possibility of exclusive use of the pool at a nominal extra charge.
* Loft Double Room Treetop king or twin bedded room with a seperate small sitting area. A private deck looks out onto the forest canopy.
* Family Rooms Larger king or twin bedded rooms with additional beds for 2 kids. Either a walled garden or screened terrace is attached.
* Family Suites King or twin bedded garden rooms with an annex containing either a double sleeper couch or two single beds.
* Poolside Family Suite Two en suite inter leading rooms at the poolside. The main bedroom is queen bedded whilst the smaller adjoining room is twin bedded.
* Honeymoon Garden Cottage A king bedded cottage style room with a bay window sitting area with a fireplace and a full bathroom with an enormous tub.A large, private terrace looks out onto the garden.
* Honeymoon Loft Suite A large, apartment style suite featuring an enormous bedroom with a fireplace, a seperate sitting room and a full bathroom with a roll top bath. The outside deck views out onto the treetops.
All rooms contain ceiling fans, wall heaters, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer, radio/alarm ipod dock, bar fridge, mini safe and flat screen TV. Some rooms have fireplaces too.
Sumptuous breakfasts are served daily on our dining deck overlooking our very own patch of Knysna forest. Guests may choose fresh fruit salad and yoghurt or home made muffins and muesli from our cold buffet, followed by hot dishes to order - eggs Benedict, French toast, full English breakfast, omelettes and sweet or savoury pancakes. Light lunches are available and suppers by prior arrangement, a popular choice being a traditional braai (barbecue).

As your hosts we are always available to share our local knowledge of the Garden Route with its multitude of activities for the holidaymaker, and to arrange bookings for excursions and restaurants. For the more adventurous and active guest we co-ordinate and provide eco-adventure outings and activities including forest cycling, individualised lagoon and ocean sunset cruises, guided walks, abseiling, kayaking, scuba diving, snorkelling, bungee jumping and many more.
