About the area

Imagine a long, gorgeous white beach at the edge of beautiful turquoise ocean waters. Now turn around and see the swaying palm trees, the spectacular vegetation and some of the best views you have ever seen before. If you can imagine this, then you know what a visit to Camps Bay will be like. One of the trendiest and most popular areas near Cape Town, the atmosphere is much like the south of France, and rivals its beauty. The beach, and village areas are very popular on hot summer days. Camps Bay village is lined with cafes, bars, restaurants and trendy shops, sure to keep any avid traveler busy for days. You’ll find it impossible not to stop at this spectacular bay for a sunset cocktail, or just to watch the African skies above. Behind this festive scenery sit the rocky Twelve Apostle Mountains. For the best view, try one of the many luxury hotels and guest houses on the slopes of the mountain. Each offers its own unique, spectacular views of the sprawling ocean and sunsets. From Camps Bay, take an easy stroll to Glen Beach, Bakoven and the popular Clifton Beaches. Take a short drive over to Sea Point, or travel in the opposite direction towards Llandudno & Hout Bay. Anyone who has visited before will tell you, No trip to Cape Town is complete without spending at least a day, in Camps Bay!
