The Faraday family invites you to their fynbos paradise. We have found heaven…and we want to share it with you! Situated high on the slopes of the green Noodhoek Valley is Leopardstone Hill. Named for the endangered Western Leopard Toad, we back up our green credentials by providing essential habitat for this endemic species and for other local flora and fauna.
But our relaxation credentials are even more important! With panoramic Atlantic Ocean and mountain views, a sweeping garden filled with sun birds and sugar birds, a natural rock pool for your swimming pleasure and an organic veggie garden, you will find the days slipping away as you tap into the slower rhythms of nature.
Leopardstone Hill has two exclusive cottages, both situated privately on the property. Private and secure parking as well as private entrances, separate barbeque areas and individual gardens ensure that you will always feel secluded. The cottages are immaculately equipped and come standard with tea, coffee, sugar and milk. Both our cottages have DSTV. A load of firewood is supplied with which to barbeque in the summer and to light the inside fire in winter (Stone Cottage). (Electric blankets are also supplied in winter).
The luxurious Stone Mountain Cottage has the most spectacular of sea and mountain views. From the covered patio the valley seems to fall away below you as you gaze towards the ocean. Stone Cottage is a superior self-catering home with the best of finishes. Accommodation for 6 is provided in 3 bedrooms, with the queen loft-style bedroom accessed by a spiral staircase. Stone Cottage has a uniquely relaxing outside shower. With hot and cold water, and gorgeous sea views, you might spend more time there than is strictly necessary!
The charming Pebble Beach Cottage sleeps 4 guests and is delightfully decorated in a coastal theme. Fresh blues and whites dominate the interior, while original children’s art work, a bucket and spade installation and red kitchen stools add whimsical touches. Pebble has an expansive sea-facing deck, with an additional barbeque deck. The main bedroom with generous queen bed dressed in white linen opens onto the deck. The second bedroom with 2 single beds opens into a small private courtyard. This gorgeously fun cottage overlooks the garden and on towards the Atlantic Ocean and Noodhoek Mountains.

About the area
Nestled below the world famous Chapman's Peak is a gorgeous rural village called Noordhoek. As one of the last country villages on the Cape peninsula, we take life slowly here. Keeping track of seasons; admiring sunsets and taking long walks on our 7kms of white beach gives us plenty to do. When the wind blows we head into the mountains to hike, picnic, mountain bike or rock climb.
During winter we light log fires and pour red wine. On rainy nights the whole village helps to assist our local endangered celebrity, the Western Leopard Toad, to successfully make the migration to and from local ponds. In Noordhoek we know the value of community and of conservation.
Horses are big in Noordhoek! Many residents keep their own horses and ride them through the country lanes, down to the beach. A romantic activity for visitors is to join a group ride on Noordhoek Beach at sunset. Gorgeous!
When we are hungry and thirsty, we head for the Noordhoek Farm Village where there are four eateries to choose from. At the Foodbarn you can experience 5-star cousine. The Foodbarn Deli makes the best pastries in the peninsula. The Toad in the Village Pub serves excellent pizza. And the burgers and cappucino's at Cafe Roux are incredible.
In Noordhoek we are not far from anything - 30 minutes to Cape Point and 30 minutes to Cape Town. We are right in the centre of the tourist routes, but we feel miles from everything! Come experience it for yourself!
