Whether you're deciding to take a beach break with some family or friends or just checking out of your busy lifestyle in exchange for a affordable Cape Town break - we have it all and more.
C'mon … Just picture this:
So - on a Friday night you drive along the M3, take a vote as to whether you feel like subjecting the car to a scenic hike over Ou Kaapse weg, or if you should take the coastal road and amble through the seaside towns of False Bay.
Odds are you'll vote for the mountainside, someone else for the coastal route - so the coast it is! And your plan: to spend an entire weekend outside the city and spoil yourself here at SeaSpray in Simon’s Town.
You're probably thinking the last time you visited our part of the world had to be one of the prettiest. Driving along the coast, the full moon hung over False Bay to the left, and on the right the mountains just caught the light. Sitting in the backseat, you were quite happy to "book-out" of the conversation and simply … admire.
Come on over to a place where even walking along the road on Sunday morning, it's noticeable how ‘everyone knows everyone'- comforting kind of small town vibe.
Your weekend begins Friday night, unpack the car and decide where everyone's sleeping. Then it’s lighting the fire outside, enjoying dinner while entranced by the sight of the path to the full moon over False Bay, across to the distant twinkling lights along the shoreline.
Warm, fed and lazy you then hop into bed, and drift into a comatose sleep when the number of hours doesn’t matter and don't count…. Bliss.
Next morning it's a late start, and a walk in Simon’s Kloof then back to SeaSpray. Go wild over brunch, three cups of coffee, loads of conversation later; you then all drift off from the veranda to do your own thing some off to Cape Point, some to Boulders for a Penguin watch, which leaves one lone ranger to wash up.
And so the days pass in blissful peace; without deadlines or demands.
Whether it’s the mountains that catch you; the whales in the bay; the penguins down the road or Cape Point Nature Reserve - what a liberating way to spend the weekend... |
