Slippers is a private, family owned and managed accommodation establishment. The private garden flatlet has been thoughtfully equipped for comfort, relaxation and self-catering. The decor is homely and unique (we hope!), capturing the spirit of the Breede River Valley. We take pride in our attention to details and hygiene. Slippers is within walking distance from the Dharma Centre, pharmacy, supermarket, old cemetery and bakery. We are an approved and proud member of the Robertson Tourism Council.

We do not charge a single supplement. The tarriff is always per person per night for self catering.
If you are interested in a long-stay reservation, please let us know the amount of nights so that we can quote you accordingly.
Usual check-in is 14:00 and Check-out is 11:00. In the event that do not have other bookings, you are more than welcome to arrive any time from 09:00 and depart as late as 17:00, at no extra charge.
Our reknowned and optional \'Blikbord\' Breakfast is available by 48-hour prior arrangement, for R45 per person.
The bedroom is open-plan and forms part of the living area. 2 (New and heavenly) "Cloud Nine" single beds can accommodate 1 or 2 single guests. For couples, they are As a king-sized bed it is cosy for a couple. All linen are provided. In winter we add extra blankets, hot water-bottles and a heater. In summer we provide a fan and the room window is fitted with a swing mesh-frame to keep insects out. Situated in the garden, we hope you enjoy the lush garden views, bright skies, distant mountains and the choirs of birds.

The flatlet has a private, spacious and quaint shower-room comprising of a large, open shower with a massage shower-head, washbasin, toilet and a view! This is the best room in the flatlet to listen to the Karoo raindrops on the corrugated roof. Towels, complimentary toiletries, fresh flowers and candles provided. Please note that there is no electric shaver point.

The garden flatlet is thoughtfully equipped for a comfortable, relaxing or romantic getaway. The living room forms part of the open-plan bedroom. There is a comfortable easy-chair, antique dining table and two chairs, tiled- and wooden floors, television (SABC and e-TV), CD-player with AM/FM radio, a small library and ample local information brochures, cupboard with hangers, luggage kist, security alarm system and a compact digital safe (for those concerned), ample lighting and candles, rugs, board-games and plenty of feasts for the eyes!
The private kitchen is well-equipped for self-catering. Facilities include a microwave oven, two-plate stove, fridge with deep-freeze and ice trays, storage space, cordless kettle, toaster, coffee plunger, ample (and new) cutlery, crockery and barbeque utensils. Dustbin bags, cloths and cleaning liquids and are supplied. Complimentary coffee, tea, sugar (white, brown and Canderel) and milk on arrival. (Available during power failures: Two-plate non-electric stove with bio-gel and aluminium kettle, gas heater, a battery-operated light, torch and ample candles and matches for a very romantic evening...)
Enjoy our generous and optional "Blikbord"-Breakfast at R45 per person. A random selection of goodies in season and in the owner’s pantry: fresh juice, slices of farm bread, hot home-made scones, butter and jam, a helping of ham, some cheese, biltong and perhaps pumpkin fritters or or pomegranates. (A 48-Hour notice is required for the breakfast as the best local produce need to be sourced and dough require kneeding and resting). The breakfast is served at your door or outside at your private "braai-boma".
Your rustic and private "braai-boma" (barbeque area), grid, equipment, patio chairs and table is situated alongside the flatlet, in the garden. Wonderful for wine-tasting, bird watching or star-gazing. If preferred, a portable barbeque-unit is also available for use under your roofed entrance. Please bring your own wood / briquettes and fire starters (Blitz).
Free, off-street, roofed parking is located well inside the property at your private entrance. Additional free off-street parking is available for a second vehicle or trailer.

We do welcome long term rentals for up to 1 month at special reduced rates. Although not necessary we do recommend that you rent a car as public transport isn’t the most reliable and readily available.
Although Slippers is on groundlevel, the flatlet is not wheelchair friendly. There is one step at the front door and one into the shower room. To access the safe, some bending / kneeling is required.
Due to delicate decor Slippers is not child- or pet friendly.
We follow a strict non-smoking policy. Smoking is only permitted outside.
We do not have credit card- or laundry facilities. A laundrette is open on weekdays in Robertson.

Slippers is situated 180km ( approximately 90 minutes) from Cape Town and Cape Town International airport. From the city / airport, take the N1 towards Worcester. In Worcester (at the third set of traffic lights) follow the R60 signs to Robertson.
From the Garden Route (N2), turn off towards Swellendam. Follow in the direction of Ashton (R60; N15) towards Robertson. Stay on the main road.
On arrival in Robertson, leave the R60 (Voortrekker Road) at Barry-, Piet Retief-, Paul Kruger- or Reitz Street. Continue until you reach Truter Street. Turn left and continue to number 72. Welcome!

Attractions include sundowner and picnic boat rides on the river, hiking trails, an 18-hole golf course, wine tasting at over 50 wineries (many of whom offer free tasting), sky-diving, motorcycle ralleys, the largest hedge maze in the southern hemisphere, to name but a few.
